Quote for the week

When you finally get it right you and your horse will think as one and move as one. Until that time you will work at odds and could find yourself in the dirt on occasion. ~Grandfather
So the DOR and I achieved what grandfather described last weekend. For a brief moment it was if we were one rather than two individuals working together. I know the DOR was thrilled, I hope she knows that I was thrilled too. We are both hoping that these moments occur more often and last longer. It is hard to explain how it feels when it does happen. I know that when it does happen I can feel the slightest shift in the DORs thoughts or movement and can respond to them. She feels like she can just think something and I can read her mind.
When the DOR was little she used to dream of being a horse. In those moments when we get it right she feels as if she is.
Enjoy your day and don't forget to hug your DOR

OK, this is good, but when Jack starts wearing a tee-shirt and DOR gets a heart tattooed on her haunches, you two will have gone too far! Just kidding, of course - glad all is going well.

got my hoof pic - what a neat thing!

Sounds truly wonderful, Jack - you should be proud of yourself and your DOR!

Marge,
I am glad you like the hoof pick, they are pretty cool. I know Shelly really appreciates the support and the horses benefit from the funds for their farrier work.
Don't worry I won't wear a t-shirt and the DOR doesn't plan on getting any more tattoos.

Working as a well oil machine, a team is always good. Hope that continues for you.

Stopped in to say thanks for placing the ad, it's appreciated.

For just a millisecond I thought you were saying that you and the DOR had found yourself at odds (and in the dirt!). Glad it was the better of grandfather's two options! Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Those moments are still not occurring as often as I like, but we're still trying.

I would say it's a Zen like feeling.

You and your DOR are so lucky to achieve such closeness. I don't think I ever got that far with any of my horses. First, I was too young to take the time and then I was too old (and too much time at work). - Margy
