Freedom speaks Saturday

This is Mushboy and I at spring follies last year. I have to tell you in every horse's life, if they are lucky, a special human comes along. For me it was Mushboy, you see he saved me. Mushboy visited a feedlot and saw me standing between two large bucking horses, they were helping hold me up. I was there waiting to be shipped to slaughter. I was thin and getting worse by the day because I couldn't eat hay. Mushboy was there looking for a friend for Salty the Wonder Horse and when he saw me he knew I was the one...no questions asked. I arrived to the ranch and was soon being fed three meals of special mush a day. I am a fat and happy guy all because a special young man entered my life. Even now, when I can't be ridden, Mushboy takes very special care of me. I get mush, brushed, played with, and my paddock is decorated just so. Mushboy even reads to me, I especially enjoy that.
I hope that every horse gets that one special human at least once in their life...what I really wish is that horses have a special human their entire lives.
Here is a big thank you and all the love I have to give to one special boy. Without you Mushboy I would have died at the lot or even more horribly at the slaughter plant...you are my special boy forever and always.
Life is so good! Oh and Jack told me to remember to say: Enjoy your day and don't forget to hug your DOR!

Awwww....that brought tears to my eyes! I have feedlot horses myself...Beauty was one and so is Gigondas. What a beautiful and moving story! I used to sit and read in Sunni's corral. He wasn't used to people either. Now he is a big HAM!!!

I'm so glad you found such a good and loving home with Mushboy. That's a happy ending I love to read about. Sorry about the delete, that was me above, should have read before I posted.

That brought a tear to my eye as well. You are so right: every horse deserves a special person to love and spoil them. Enjoy it, old man!
