Freedom speaks Saturday

Salty the Wonder Horse and I have a very important job! Our job is to help Mushboy be able to cope with the stress of high school. This week has been especially stressful for Mushboy. He has been sitting on Salty every evening, one night unwinding to the point of almost sleeping. Yesterday Salty decided that Mushboy needed a good giggle and decided to show him he still had a few moves left.
My role is to use my unending mellowness and gumption to keep Mushboy focused. Together Salty and I do a pretty stellar job helping him deal with the stresses of school.
I need to let you know that for some reason this blog has been dealing with some glitches-slow loading and missing background. The DOR is working on it, so we will be under reconstruction for a bit. We will try not to disappear, but be patient with us. If you need help with patience you can come out for some therapy time with Salty and I.
Life is so good! Oh and Jack told me to remember to say: Enjoy your day and don't forget to hug your DOR

Oh dear! Is Salty a little gimpy in front? Neat that Mushboy can ride him tack-less. What a good old boy! (As you are Freedom!)

Salty has a bum knee, we adopted him that way. He runs, bucks, and goofs around in the pasture...he doesn't know he is lame so we don't tell him.

Glad to be able to get here again. Better to be a bit gimpy and still moving than to be standing still. You go, Salty!

Just so everyone doesn't worry about Salty...Mushboy's time on him is limited, Salty is never asked to go above a walk (trotting is his idea), his knee is checked by a vet several times a year, and he receives therapeutic trims every 6 weeks to keep things in balance. He has also been pain free in his knee for the past three years thanks to nutritional and therapeutic support.

School is really tough. Glad you can help Mushboy. I could have used the help, that's for sure.

Glad to see a background back up. Congrats on surviving the rebuild.

Regards from Cibolo and Lily...

Salty is a wonderful horse to be such a good friend to mushboy. Glad he can help relieve the stress. I'm sure he won't do anything to hurt himself, he knows his limitations.

Love the new background.

Having equine friends to help with the stress of high school is wonderful. Mushboy is so lucky.
By the way, I love your new blog design.

Good video! I was thinking of riding again! I haven't rode in years and my Mom still has the horse farm! Go figure, right!

I wish every kid I work with could have their own Salty Horse. I think we ask so much and often in the wrong ways.
