Quote for the week

See with your heart, not your eyes.

Yesterday the DOR went to Ellensburg to visit her horse Scooby. For those of you who may not know it Scooby is blind. She always enjoys her time with him, he reminds her that what you feel is sometimes more important than what you can see. It also reminds her that while the nature of a relationhip may change with circumstances and time, the relationship will continue to exist and grow strong if that is what one chooses to have happen.
Scooby never forgets her, he can tell who she is every time she shows up. He recognizes her voice, the lavender scent she wears, he knows which pocket has his peppermints in it, and he remembers the way she touches him. The DOR spends her time grooming him, walking the pasture with him, and scritching him. She will often stand with her head on his neck with her eyes closed...seeing the world as he does. They have a quiet, comfortable friendship that is filled with tenderness and deep caring. Her time with Scooby reminds her that there is so much more to the world than what she can see with her eyes, that the most important things are what you can see with your heart.
Enjoy your day and don't forget to hug your DOR!
