Will stretch for treats

The equine therapist has the DOR working on loosening up my muscle bound massiveness.

One of the things I have to do is neck flexing...I call it flexing for treats (also know as carrots stretches).

The DOR will have a Berry Good treat and I have to stretch around to get it. At first I couldn't stretch very far and you could hear my neck pop a bit.

Now I am able to reach back pretty well and no neck popping.
I have to do both sides.

Sometimes I am a bit short on my stretch, but that is when I am getting warmed up.

Rumor has it that I will have to start flexing around farther next week. What does she want, my nose on my butt? Come to think of it if I could reach my nose around to my butt I might be able to scratch that itchy spot above my tail all by myself. I guess I better practice some on my own.

While I am doing my stretches to be more flexible the DOR has started doing Tai Chi to get more flexible. If we both keep it up we will be as flexible as Gumby and Pokey.

Enjoy your day and don't forget to hug your DOR

I'll bet I would have to have Pokey on a lead to do this. I think he'd scootch his whole body around rather than bend like that. I'll have to try it and see what he does.

Looks like he's getting the hang of it. I once recommended a book on my rider fitness post called:' The Path to Perfect Suppleness' by Karin Blignault, it's a great book, check it out on Amazon. It has a lot of great stretches for horses illustrated and explained. I'm thinking of trying TaiChi too, how do you like it?

The only stretches I want to do are with my arms when I wake each morning with a yawn, and then with my legs just before drifting into ZzzLand.
Cactus Jack..you can do all you want for me in the other departments, Ok?

Well, the "treats" part makes it all worthwhile, eh? :)

What a great idea. I will have to try this with my mare, who is very stiff!! And Jack, you are so talented!!
