They say princes learn no art truly but the art of horsemanship. The reason is the brave beast is no flatterer. He will throw a prince as soon as his groom. ~Ben Jonson, Discoveries Made Upon Men and Matter and Some Poems, "Illiteratus princeps"
Yes it is true, we horses are as honest as they come. We don't care how much you make, how you dress, or what you look like. If you are a jerk we will let you know. You may get your toe stomped on, get a dirty look, ignored, bucked off, bite, or kicked...we just aren't going to put up with being treated badly. We love people who are honest and kind, we respect those with self-confidence, and care for those who are in pain.
If you want an honest opinion of you character ask a horse...just be prepared for the answer.
I make sure that the DOR gets a character check everyday. So far I am able to keep her moving in the right direction.
Enjoy your day and don't forget to hug your DOR

Well, Jack, I think most of us would say our horses make us better people.
Horses rock. I miss mine.
Flo the 10-year-old Appy mare would so agree with you. She makes that clear to me every time I spend moments with her. She knows when I am the one who is full of horse poop!
YUPE! I think you've got that right. No fool bigger than a man or woman who thinks he/she knows all there is to know about a horse and the horse is the first one to prove it.
