Before I give you the recipe for Jack's blast let me tell you what the vet said last night. The lab work came back and it showed that I did not have West Nile Virus...which was what the vet was almost positive I had. He has seen horses who he has vaccinated come down with the virus, what a waste of a shot if you ask me. He said that EPM is at the very bottom of his list of possibilities because there are no possums around here for me to eat their pooh. Like I would eat possum pooh....well if it was covered with molasses I might. It is possible that I got a rhino virus so we are going get more blood tonight and have more tests run. Those tests may just come back that I suffered from Cactus Jack Splash Virus, a very rare super virus that effects only super appies. I also might have suffered from mild poisoning. They have been doing fly over spraying for the mosquitoes and the county came out and sprayed our pond and boggy area. I like to stand in the boggy area and eat the tender shoots....I climb the dyke to get there. Even though they say the spray is animal safe, it has caused problems for some animals before. The DOR has run hotwire so I can't climb over the dyke and get to the bog....I am soooo not happy about that. I may have to take up jumping so I can clear the wire and get to the tender shoots! Yep I can see it now, my big ol' spotted butt flying over the wire to the good stuff-I just have to make sure the DOR never catches me or she will move me to the naughty horse pasture. Whatever it is that made me sick I do know that "Jack's Blast" helped me get better.
So you might be wondering what is in Jack's Blast. Well here is the recipe:
2 scoops (1 scoop = 4 1/2 cups on all feed ingredients) hay pellets (3 for breakfast)
Cover with water, mix, and allow hay pellets to swell.Add enough water that the pellets break apart and the mixture is the consistency of oatmeal.
Add six rose hips if available and a handful of dandelion leaves.
Yummy...this mixture was not just pulled out of the blue. It was developed to support my nervous and immune systems, while giving me enough energy to not become depleted while in recovery. The only downside of getting better is that the DOR is cutting back on the sweet stuff...darn it. She is trading the sweets for apples and healthy sweets so I am okay with that.
Tomorrow I am going to tell you what the specialist did and about copper.
WOW Jack and you think you need more goodies! That 2 cups of molasses is sweet as candy! What a recipe! I am glad it made you better though. Watch that the colidal Silver does not make you appy spots turn green! Has your DOR seen the green/silver man on TV, from taking to much of that silver.
WOW Jack, somehow I missed that you were sick. I hope your're on the mend soon. You know how mothers are, they hate it when their babies are sick! Hugs for you Jack and your DOR!

Glad you don't have the WNV. Hope the Vet figures you out fast. You sure are a lucky boy to have the DOR to take care of you.
